Re: Canada Build
Hi Terry, I can send you extra parts! Just email me and let me know exactly what you need. I know the gluing is finicky. Thanks for the comments here though, and I think a totally clear casing is a neat idea but it's not straightforward as the injection molding tooling would need to be polished on t...

Re: RUSP
Hi Bob, thank you so much for posting this. I should say for anyone else reading this, that the next step after one gets the phone assembled and is trying to debug call functionality should be to follow the instructions starting on page 3 of the Development Supplement: https://skysedge.com/unsmartph...

Development Notes Updated
Hi all, I've been working on the "advanced" build/development supplement, in particular the section on playing with network connectivity by using the serial console, which will be important for testing call functionality independently lingering bugs in the Arduino code: https://skysedge.co...

Re: Missing Parts
Dan,
Did I send you the switch?
Terry,
It's 7.75mm long and about 5mm in diameter, but I can send you another if you want.

Re: Wifi or tethered hotspot, technically possible?
Yeahhh a lot of people have emailed me asking for this kind of functionality. Now that basic cell service is problematic in the US I admit to regretting not implementing it in the first place, but for now the priority has to be restoring cell connectivity.

Re: Build Complete
I should add now (amazed I didn't earlier), beautiful builds.
I've made some tweaks to the assembly process and to the way the ePaper is mounted to fix some of the problems in the newest version of the instructions.

Re: is tethered mode possible
The LARA doesn't have a bluetooth radio :/
It's something I wanted to incorporate for hands-free car calling but it turned into too much scope creep so I didn't go down that path for now.

Re: I am confused, I think
To answer the original question more fully, The calls I was able to place in the YouTube video was from before this FCC/PTCRB certification issue arose (thank you very much to Anjin for explaining it so I didn't have to). To answer the implied question, anyone, especially in the US, wanting to use t...

Re: Phone dialling issue
Hi Alex, Thank you for posting the video; very helpful. Two things... no it definitely shouldn't be returning that quickly. It seems like the centripetal mechanism on the governor isn't engaging. Is it possible some glue got into the aluminum weights? Also, did you confirm that it only spins in one ...

Re: Bell Arm Assembly issue
Hi guys, I haven't updated the assembly instructions yet and you're reminding me to do that. I updated the Daughterboard design so that the little locknut and washer on the bottom side is no longer necessary. Instead, the M2 screw will screw directly into that threaded insert. I'll add pictures to t...
